The original stories were anything but “bedtime” tales; unless you are looking to send your kids to sleep with nightmare images and wound up imaginations of what may be in the shadows or making that floor boards creak in the night.

To get a personal insight into their history and the history of their original Germanic folktales, National Geographic has created an excellent starting resource complete with audio.

I am selecting some of their more obscure lesser known stories to illustrate, and will be posting my progress and my finished illustrations.
